The Old Florida Outdoor Festival was created to support the efforts of non-profits in the community and to spark a sense of adventure among its attendees. A portion of the proceeds go directly to fund the Big Potato Foundation. The mission of the Big Potato Foundation is to cultivate a healthy Central Florida community through charitable, creative, and cultural programs. Through these programs they strive to inspire the members of the community and engage those around them with a sense of gratitude and a heart of service.
The Old Florida Outdoor Festival celebrates all the outdoor recreation you can enjoy right here in Apopka, Fla. Check out the newest fishing boats. Get up close with native wildlife. Learn about fishing and hunting. Watch shooting demonstrations or the DockDogs diving competition. The festival features everything from racing pigs and helicopter rides to exhibits, food vendors and lots of kids activities. It's Central Florida's premiere event for outdoor fun and entertainment.
Some of country music's top names and up-and-coming artists perform at the Old Florida Outdoor Festival. The 2015 event feratured performers Montgomery Gentry and Joe Nichols. Reserve a a seat up close to the stage or bring your lawn chairs for a relaxing spot in the grass - a perfect place to enjoy the music under the stars. A second stgae features local music acts with an ecclectic mix of rock, blues, jazz and just about everything in-between.
Love good food? The Old Florida Outdoor Festival is home of a prestigious barbecue cookoff organized through the Florida BBQ Association. The $25,000 in cash prizes attracts some fo the best cookers from around the country. The festival also hosts a chili cook-off charity fundraiser. That's not to mention the great variety of food vendors available each year. Come for the fun, and come hungry.
